The Sustainable Mortgage

Treehugger points us to the UK’s Ecology Building Society, which provides loans for “properties with ‘an ecological payback.” This is great news, because (as the post author notes), mortgages on sustainable buildings are likely to earn you a higher interest rate. Now, if we can just get insurance companies to recognize the value of “ecological payback,” and start insuring green homes and buildings more widely.
