More Positive Developments in Harvesting Wind
An AP article (found at Commondreams.org) describes the success of the wind energy industry in overcoming difficulties and criticism in the High Winds Energy Center, a new wind farm between San Francisco and Sacramento. Among the improvements: bird, wildlife and land-friendly design, more power on less wind (these turbines can produce power on wind as slow as 8 mph), and turbines that can swivel with the direction of the wind.
