A Green Wal-Mart?

Is that the direction Whole Foods is considering as it “mulls [a] push into organic clothing?” Perhaps that’s too negative — I like shopping at Whole Foods, though it does mean a trip into the suburbs. There’s the issue of their labor practices, too — while better than most, I understand they could still make strides in this area. And, of course, can a chain store of any kind, regardless of its merchandise, ever be truly sustainable, as chains defy the push for more local economies?
