An Eye in the Sky…

Watching you drive — that’s the idea in Oregon in response to declining fuel tax revenues because of hybrid vehicles. I agree with Kevin that the potential for abuses from the proposed system outweighs the benefit of a “mileage tax.” I also agree with one of his commentors that raising the gas tax is the sensible (though politically dangerous) action to take.
