From The Independent via EcoPortal, news that British Gas is offering it’s customers an eco-friendly trade-off: agree to pay the “Warm Fix” tariff (which is 9% higher than the ordinary tariff), and the company will install energy-efficiency measures “such as cavity walls or loft installation and low energy light bulbs for free, which it says will reduce energy bills by and average of [90 pounds] a year.” Warm Fix customers will also have their prices frozen for three years.
