Ecover's 30 Under 30 Contest is Back

ecover 30 under 30 logoLast year, I was honored to serve as a judge for Ecover’s 30 Under 30 Contest, which recognized “30 people under 30 years old who are making a sustainable difference in their local or global communities.” The contest is on again this year, I’m judging again (along with fellow Important Media writer Megan McWilliams), and expect it to be another great time.

So, what’s involved? Ecover will run the contest through Facebook; if you think you’re someone that deserves recognition for your sustainability work (and you’re under the age of 30), go ahead and enter. You’ll need to submit a photo and a bio (that highlights your sustainability activity). Those of us judging will pick the final thirty out of the pool of entrants; once they’re announced, voters on Facebook will choose the overall winner. That person will receive a year’s worth of Ecover cleaning products (which, believe me, last for a full year); the other finalists will receive the full range of dishwashing products (the stuff that got Ecover going over 30 years ago). All the deets are available on the contest page at Facebook.

We had a really strong field last year; I know I struggled with whom to pick. No reason that can’t be the case this year, too. Let us know if you enter.
