Dave Morris does a nice job of summing up tactical differences between Democrats and Republicans in this essay from Alternet. I’m posting this in response to the minor eruption over Dave Pollard’s call to arms, as Morris raises questions that I believe are implicit in Pollard’s analysis of the “military-industrial complex.” I would argue that we are our tactics, and to borrow a cliche from everybody’s mother, we can’t let “them” drag us down to their level. That doesn’t mean that the response to conservative nastiness from the institutionalized progressive movement (i.e., the Democratic party) can’t be more agressive (it probably should be), but let’s keep the high ground.
