Platic Pots to Lumber at the Missouri Botanical Gardens

While not exclusively a project of the Garden’s Earthways Center, the annual Plastic Pot Recycling program at the Missouri Botanical Garden demonstrates another example of how this St. Louis institution is committed to creating local sustainability. The program’s pretty simple: St. Louisans bring in plastic plant pots that they’ve collected from their gardening to the Garden, and the pots are recycled into plastic lumber planks that are sold through the Garden’s gift shop.
