{"id":1220,"date":"2005-05-31T00:48:00","date_gmt":"2005-05-31T00:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sustainablog.greenoptions.com\/2005\/05\/31\/peak-oil-in-the-msm\/"},"modified":"2005-05-31T00:48:00","modified_gmt":"2005-05-31T00:48:00","slug":"peak-oil-in-the-msm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/articles\/peak-oil-in-the-msm\/","title":{"rendered":"Peak Oil in the MSM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More and more, the &#8220;peak oil&#8221; concept is making its way into mainstream media coverage of energy issues.  theWatt <a href=\"http:\/\/thewatt.com\/article.pl?sid=05\/05\/29\/2038219\">points us<\/a> to a story from <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20050528\/ap_on_bi_ge\/oil_gone;_ylt=Autd5LHxK6l8Zl.REOLnCZqs0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA2MTQ3MTFjBHNlYwN0cw--\">the AP<\/a> (reprinted on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/7997882\/\">MSNBC<\/a>) and a series on the subject in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/ArticleNews\/TPStory\/LAC\/20050528\/RCRUDE28\/TPBusiness\/?query=peak+oil\">the Toronto <em>Globe and Mail<\/em><\/a>.  Where We&#8217;re Bound <a href=\"http:\/\/wherewearebound.typepad.com\/where_were_bound\/2005\/05\/wow_usatodayap_.html\">points out<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/news\/world\/2005-05-28-oil-shortage_x.htm\">that same AP article in <em>USA Today<\/em><\/a>. You definitely don&#8217;t get more mainstream than these news sources.  I&#8217;ve been a bit lax on posting peak oil stories lately because they all seem to be overviews of the concept and the arguments for and against it.
