{"id":1341,"date":"2005-06-28T14:46:00","date_gmt":"2005-06-28T14:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sustainablog.greenoptions.com\/2005\/06\/28\/round-the-house-energy-conservation\/"},"modified":"2005-06-28T14:46:00","modified_gmt":"2005-06-28T14:46:00","slug":"round-the-house-energy-conservation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/articles\/round-the-house-energy-conservation\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Round the House Energy Conservation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While I (like many bloggers) am always enthralled by the big ideas of sustainable development, Curt at Alternative Energy~Renewable Energy <a href=\"http:\/\/curtrosengren.typepad.com\/alternative_energy\/2005\/06\/energy_conserva.html\">points us<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thriftyfun.com\/Home%20Improvement_Conservation_574_581.html\">a site<\/a> that has tons of practical ideas on how to conserve energy in the home.  Just browsing over the suggestions, I&#8217;m impressed, especially by ways they encourage parents to get their kids involved through games.  On one item, I&#8217;d suggest an alternative: rather than an energy audit, get a &#8220;whole-house&#8221; audit, as they consider all of the interlocking systems within a house (thanks to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthwayshome.org\/\">Earthways Center<\/a> for that tip).
