I was originally drawn to this Guardian profile of botanist Peter Raven<\/a> because he’s the director of the Missouri Botanical Garden<\/a>, and it’s his leadership that likely led to expansions like the Earthways Center<\/a>. This article is also helpful if you want an introduction to or a brush-up on the concept of ecosystems, and also how human growth is damaging these systems and leading to massive extinctions of plant and animal species.
