If, however, we focus on readily-available energy sources that people in the developing world can use for common, everyday tasks &#8211; like <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/2012\/07\/solar-oven-best-clean-cookstove\/\">cooking<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/ecopreneurist.com\/2012\/11\/30\/solar-chargers-for-camping\/\">charging a cell phone<\/a> &#8211; getting energy to the entire world doesn&#8217;t seem quite so far-fetched, or so unsustainable.<\/p>\n<p>The World Bank&#8217;s Sustainable Energy for All initiative focuses on how to get &#8220;modern energy&#8221; to the entire global population efficiently, effectively, and with the lowest environmental and health impacts. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/news\/feature\/2013\/05\/28\/infographic-sustainable-energy-for-all\">infographic below<\/a> provides a look at the initiative&#8217;s three main goals; if you&#8217;re interested in digging deeper into the research and thinking behind these goals, the Bank has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/news\/feature\/2013\/05\/28\/Global-Tracking-Framework-Puts-Numbers-to-Sustainable-Energy-Goals\">a ton of content available<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>No doubt, some will find action by the World Bank controversial: feel free to share your concerns with us.
