[Infographic]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While we haven&#8217;t done as much on veganism lately as we once did when <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/author\/jsvk13\/\">Justin<\/a> was submitting posts regularly, we&#8217;re still mindful of <a href=\"http:\/\/vibrantwellnessjournal.com\/2013\/12\/19\/vegan-lifestyle\/\">the impacts of the traditional animal-based diet on the environment and human health<\/a>. So, while many will call this lifestyle choice a &#8220;fad&#8221; encouraged by the celebrity set, we know that veganism is a solid option for a healthy lifestyle&#8230; and is easier on the planet. Though we don&#8217;t all practice veganism, understanding the impacts of our food choices helps us make those choices knowingly&#8230; not the kind of mindset normally associated with the American diet.<\/p>\n<p>So, why is the vegan lifestyle growing in the US? Sure, it&#8217;s presence in popular culture makes a difference&#8230; but it&#8217;s also clear from the infographic below that many Americans are becoming more mindful of their food choices, and aligning those choices with their values. We&#8217;re impressed, and applaud anyone who decides to make such a change&#8230; for whatever reason (because nearly all of them are really good ones!).<\/p>\n<p>Are you a vegan?
