Yep, we hear you. On the upside, there are lots of things you can do to ensure that you don&#8217;t waste energy at home, and only pay for actual heating of your home&#8217;s space (and not the great outdoors). Sure, most of us have cracks and leaks and other elements of our homes&#8217; envelopes that need improving (and many need to be done by a <a href=\"http:\/\/ecopreneurist.com\/2014\/01\/08\/green-business-idea-green-home-consulting-franchise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">green home retrofit professional<\/a>), but even the simplest\u00a0efforts to keep that hot air inside can make a difference.<\/p>\n<p>So, not sure where to get started? <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sheahomes.com\/living\/10-ways-to-improve-your-homes-energy-efficiency-infographic\/\">This infographic from Shea Homes<\/a> provides the most basic practices for increasing your home&#8217;s energy efficiency. Keep in mind that there&#8217;s nothing wrong with starting with <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/2012\/08\/save-energy-at-home\/\">the least expensive items<\/a> on this list: a geothermal system will really only provide a financial bang in an efficient building, and new higher-tech windows\u00a0never make up for their increased costs with energy savings.
