This was our first full year as a multi-author blog, and I couldn&#8217;t have been more pleased with the way it turned out. Some of the writers I&#8217;ll mention have moved on; others on coming on board. I&#8217;m grateful for the inspiration you&#8217;ve all brought to the blog over the past year, and look forward with anticipation to what the new year brings us.<\/p>\n<h3>January 2008<\/h3>\n<p>Like New Year&#8217;s fireworks, January started off with a bang.\u00a0 Here are a few great posts to remember:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jason Phillip<\/strong>&#8216;s post on <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/2008\/01\/08\/groundbreaking-bottled-water-tax-raises-dustup-in-chicago\/\">Chicago&#8217;s bottled water tax<\/a> was one of our most popular ever&#8230; it&#8217;s still getting pageviews!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maria Surma Manka<\/strong> wrote a very thorough (and also very popular) review of <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/2008\/01\/07\/scientific-americans-solar-grand-plan\/\"><em>Scientific American<\/em>&#8216;s &#8220;Solar Grand Plan.&#8221;<\/a><\/li>\n<li>I took a look at an innovative South African whose developed a <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/2008\/01\/06\/south-african-farmer-pulls-power-from-poop\/\">low-cost, high-yield method of generating energy from chicken poop.<\/a><\/li>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<li><strong>Elizabeth Redmond<\/strong> gave us an overview of how <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/2008\/01\/06\/biomimicry-bees-inspire-the-efficiency-and-communication-of-web-servers\/\">bees inspired a Georgia Tech researcher to make efficiency improvements in servers.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Kyle Weatherholtz<\/strong> covered <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/2008\/01\/08\/panasonic-sharp-and-toshiba-form-llc-for-electronics-recycling\/\">a multi-company partnership for managing electronics recycling.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tim Hurst<\/strong> broke the story on the <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/2008\/01\/14\/breaking-news-mms-releases-favorable-report-on-cape-wind\/\">Mineral Managment Service&#8217;s favorable report on the long-delayed Cape Wind project.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>John Ivanko<\/strong> provided some financial guidance for <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/2008\/01\/24\/economic-stimulus-package-money-to-invest-and-save-not-spend\/\">how to make the best use of those financial stimulus checks from the federal government.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Victoria Everman<\/strong> interviewed <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/2008\/01\/30\/jeff-poulton-of-swango-on-fashion-swapping-an-interview\/\">Jeff Poulton of the now-defunct green shopping site Swango<\/a> (which is too bad&#8230; it was a fantastic idea!).<\/li>\n<li>And <strong>Keith Rockmael<\/strong> raised <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablog.org\/2008\/01\/25\/cheers-to-biodynamic-wine\/\">a glass of biodynamic wine<\/a>&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course, these are just a few of the great offerings from January &#8217;08&#8230;
