Moving by Bike is Contagious

Inspired by this video of a Portland, OR bike move, Nicholas Whitaker decided to help his girlfriend, Jes Schultz move her apartment by bike. Taking only two trips and about three hours, they successfully relocated her 1 bedroom apartment including futon, dresser and numerous odds and ends. This was all done using nothing more than bikes (including one with a trailer), a pedal rickshaw and man- and woman-power!

Great story! I live in Fort Collins Colorado, and last year the local bike co-op helped one of its members do the same thing! Bike Power!

  2. Great concept, I could have done that when I was single with no children…about eleven years ago…and actually I did move with no bike and no vehicle, we just carried the furniture about two blocks. That counts too right?

It is inspiring to see the “green” and healthy lifestyle gain some traction. Reducing our carbon footprint is a key element in saving our planet, I do my part by not commuting and working from home.
