Coloradans Campaigning for Renewable Energy

That’s right: renewable energy is on the ballot in Colorado, with the proposed Renewable Energy requiring electrical utilities in the state to generate 10% of their power from renewables by 2015. This story from the Colorado Daily (which came to my attention from Grist) outlines the initiative itself and the sides of the debate. Not surprisingly, Colorado utilities like Xcel are against the initiative, claiming that they’re for renewable energy, but this is not the right way to go about it.

Sign the petition linked at the bottom. Better yet, go over to Red Jellyfish and sign it from there (I got the link after clicking to save rainforests and feed chimps).
