Arthur Miller, 1915-2005

Not necessarily sustainability-related, but as an English professor with an American drama focus, I was deeply saddened to see that playwright Arthur Miller has died. I said “not necessarily” above because Miller’s repeated emphasis in his plays on how modern/comtemporary life corrupts us seems to relate at least tangentially to this subject: I think of the scenes from Death of a Salesman where it becomes clear that Willy loves gardening and working in the earth… We’ve lost a giant here.
